Java Spring Boot – Installation CLI

Spring Boot is an open-source Java-based framework used to create a micro Service. It is developed by the Pivotal Team and is used to build stand-alone and production-ready spring applications. In this chapter, we will learn how to install Spring Boot CLI

We install spring boot in many ways like using gvm, SDKMAN, OSX, etc. but in this part will only focus on manual installation. So first of all download the following file.

Now unzip the file and place the file in C: drive named “Spring”. We are almost done. We only need to set the environment variables. Open the environment variable and add the following one.

Spring Local Variable

Now we update the path by adding this variable’s bin like below.

Add the bin folder to the path

Now click OK and we have done the installation process. Let’s check it. Open CMD and run the following command.

spring version

This command will show us the version of the installed spring boot package.
